I'm David! I've been a skier since I was two years old. Mountain time with my family was our favorite way to pass the weekends when I was growing up in my hometown of Smithers, BC. From a young age I was a multi sport lover and in school I played soccer, volleyball, basketball, and ran for school teams all with varying degrees of success. With my family I was introduced to mountain biking, back country skiing, backpacking, fishing, and whitewater paddling.
Over time, I began to prioritize cross country ski racing and training. In 2012 I moved to my current home of Kelowna, BC with my father and graduated from high school in June 2015. Since I have moved here I have pursued skiing in earnest and I have begun to be competitive on the National level. My last year of high school was spent trying to dream up different ways I could be an athlete and get an education at the same time. This blog was created to pass on the knowledge I gain from my experiences, with the hope it will help younger athletes graduate and pursue their goals.
